MIDI Player Online is a free, privacy-first MIDI player built to preserve and share public domain music. Everything runs locally in your browser — no uploads, no accounts, no tracking.

Our Mission

Classical music, folk songs, and traditional melodies belong to everyone. Many of these works are in the public domain, but finding high-quality MIDI files and playing them back shouldn't require installing software or creating accounts.

MIDI Player Online exists to make public domain MIDI files accessible to anyone, anywhere, with zero friction. Open the site, drop a file, and play. That's it.

Why 100% Local?

We believe music practice and exploration should be private. When you load a MIDI file into MIDI Player Online:

• The file never leaves your device
• No audio is recorded or analyzed
• No data is sent to our servers (we don't have any)
• Everything works offline after the page loads

This is why musicians, teachers, and students use MIDI Player Online for practice: your tempo adjustments, loop points, and exploration stay yours.

Public Domain Only

MIDI Player Online is designed for public domain music — compositions where copyright has expired or was never applicable. This includes:

• Classical works (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, etc.)
• Traditional folk songs and nursery rhymes
• Religious hymns and chants
• Compositions explicitly released into the public domain

We do not host or encourage copyrighted music. If you have a MIDI file of a modern pop song, please don't use MIDI Player Online to distribute it. Respect artists' rights.

How It Works

MIDI Player Online uses the Web MIDI API and Web Audio API to parse and play MIDI files directly in your browser. The piano roll visualization is rendered with HTML5 Canvas. All processing happens client-side using JavaScript.

The source code is open and auditable. We don't hide what we do with your data because we don't collect any.

Who We Are

MIDI Player Online is built by musicians and developers who believe free tools should stay free, private, and ad-light. We don't have venture capital, don't sell user data, and don't plan to add paywalls.

The site is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertising (if you see any at all). If you find MIDI Player Online useful, share it with a friend.
